We work together to provide the appropriate level of counseling services depending on your needs and preferences. We provide comprehensive counseling services in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. We also use a psycho-education model as needed to help clients achieve the best outcomes possible.

Linda Morgan

Ph.D., LCSW, M.Ed.

Dr. Linda Morgan is the Founder and Director, Thunderbolt Counseling Services, LLC in Savannah, GA. Her company celebrates 10 years in business in 2020.  Dr. Morgan was born in Portland, Oregon.  Her academic background includes: University of Chicago, Huston-Tillotson College (BA Ed), Univ. of Texas at Austin (Ph.D., Ed. Admin), Lamar University, Beaumont, TX (MA in Counseling), and Syracuse University (MSW), Syracuse, NY.  Linda has dedicated her life to eliminating poverty and racial inequalities by providing mental health services to some of society’s most at risk populations.   She spent 4 years working with Federal Prisoners in Savannah as well as having served for 14 years at Unity Health, Rochester, NY, where she wrote and ran grants for homelessness, social security recipients, HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment, Hep C, and Mental Health in school system.   Ms.  Morgan is very proud and grateful for opportunities to lead and empower therapists in the local community.  Her community accomplishments include: obtaining a NNED Grant for Diversity in Behavioral Health Treatment, and serving as a supervisory member and clinical fellow for the professional mental health organization: AAMFT.    Linda also works with the Savannah Social Workers group.  She serves her church, Unity of Savannah, as a Prayer Chaplain, the organist in the “Spirit I Am Band”,  and as President of the church’s  Board of Directors.

Dr. Morgan lives in Thunderbolt, GA with her husband and Coco the therapy dog.  She has 2 sons:  Jonathan who lives in Savannah and Daniel who resides in Baltimore, MD.   Linda can be found at home binge watching Grace and Frankie, sipping on a giant cup of coffee while munching on a Nutella Pop Tart from Auspicious Bakery.  A talented musician, and the last person to leave any party, she is currently working on mastering her jazz piano skills.  

James Dowling

LAPC, LMT

James Dowling was born in Dublin, GA and attended SCAD,  the Savannah College of Art and Design where he obtained his BFA degree in Metals & Jewelry Design.  Mr.  Dowling is also an LMT (Licensed Massage Therapist) and Reiki Master. He obtained his diploma from the Dovestar School of Massage and Alternative Healing Arts where he Specializes in Kriya Massage, Myofacial Release, Reiki, Breathwork, Meditation, and Cranial Sacral Therapy.    After graduating, James worked at The Ford Plantation Spa – a 5 Star Spa in Richmond Hill, GA.   Mr. Dowling founded his own holistic practice:  the Phoenix Holistic Center in Savannah, GA where he helped many people with chronic pain and stress issues.   In 2015, James achieved his Masters in Clinical Mental Health and his LAPC (Licensed Associate Professional Counselor) credentials from South University. He completed his internship in the Student Mental Health clinic at SCAD, where he most enjoyed putting his life experience as an artist to work to help many art students over come their life challenges. He specializes in such topics as:  Integrative, Person-Centered, Positive Psychology, and Mind Body Relaxation Techniques for Family, Couples, Individuals, LGBT, Artists, Teens, and the Transgender communities.  Through his years as a therapist he has learned to help patients with Depression, Anxiety, Trauma, Addictions, Grief, Life Changes, Personal Growth, and Spirituality. Mr. Dowling also enjoys working with and doing sessions with Blackie, his therapy cat, once a feral recue cat who reside at the office. 

James serves as a Prayer Chaplain at Unity Church of Savannah. James volunteers time at the VFW Post 660 helping veterans and volunteers as a Mental Health Therapist at the Savannah LGBT Community Center twice a week.  He has also served as a member of the Board of Directors for the First City Network, the oldest LGBT organization in the state of GA.  Mr. Dowling is known around town for his collection of funny neckties and enjoys helping members of the community from all walks of life.

Currently James resides in the Silk Hope/Berwick area, just outside of Savannah with his wife & fellow Therapist, Laura Dowling and their 7 rescue cats. Lucy, Tigger, Gray Bear, Rosie, Sweet Pea, Chatty, Marie. Mr. Dowling can be found watching his favorite movie: Kung Fu Panda while munching on Avocado toast and sipping on hot Green Tea. An avid hiker, at age 40 he climbed Mt. Katahdin, the highest mountain in Maine at 5267 feet and many other mountains along the Appalachian Trail.   James has solo hiked over 300 miles of the AT, from Maine to New Hampshire. He plans to hike the entire 2000 miles of the Appalachian Trail, from Maine to GA, and start work on his doctorate in psychology in the future.

Tiffany Causey

LAPC

Tiffany Causey is a native of Savannah, Ga, where she attended the Alfred Ely Beach High School.  Ms. Causey also holds a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology, as well as a Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling  from  South University.   She cites as one of her life’s greatest accomplishment to date as being the first person in her immediate family to gain a Masters degree.   Her work background includes experience in the hospitality/ hotel industry as well as the retail industries.   Tiffany models her life on real life hero, Michelle Obama, the person she most admires, who serves an inspiration to women around the world. 

Currently Ms. Causey lives in East Savannah and enjoys listening to music, reading and going crabbing along the Low Country coastline.   She can often be found watching reality TV shows including: Married to Medicine and The Real Housewives of Atlanta, while chowing down on spicy Chicken Wings and an ice cold Dr. Pepper.  Tiffany  enjoys spending time with her three nieces and two nephews. Ms. Causey is planning a trip to New Orleans to experience a Saints game and sample the wonderful Cajun/Creole cuisine.  

Angela Hamilton

LAPC, NCC

Angela Hamilton was born in Maysville, Kentucky and attended high school in Michigan.   Ms. Hamilton holds a Bachelors of Science in Business Management from the University of Phoenix, as well as  a Masters degree in Clinical Mental health Counseling from South University.  She served as President and Vice President of the Licensing Professional Counseling Association (LPCAGA, SAO) South University Student Chapter, and is a member of National Certified Counselor Credential National Boards Certified Counselors (NBCC).  Ms.  Hamilton cites as her great life achievement as having have raised 3 great young men Matthew, Truman, & Bryar while finishing her schooling.  After years in the retail industry, Angela then interned with local mental health organizations, including Savannah SAFE Shelter  and the Raven Foundation where she helped with  kids, treating Trauma and  just helping them deal with life in general.   Ms. Hamilton is dedicated to furthering her knowledge of Children’s psychology and regards renowned author, Liana Lowenstein, as one of the leading role models with her books serving as some of the most helpful parenting and play therapy books for counselors and parents alike. The information is easy to understand and read for both professionals and nonprofessionals.

Currently Angela is living Richmond Hill, GA with the gorgeous Camille, her Himalayan Persian cat.   She can be found watching episodes of NCIS, snacking on Chocolate and downing gallons of Coffee, while planning a vacation to Ireland and Germany.

Laura Dowling

LAPC

Laura Dowling is a Savannah native and attended Tompkins High School. Ms. Dowling holds a Bachelors degree from Armstrong Atlantic State University,  a  Masters in Sociology from Georgia Southern University, and Masters in Mental Health Counseling from  South University.  Her professional life has included work as a Police Officer for 10 years, and most recently as the Office Manager and a Therapist at Thunderbolt Counseling Services.  Laura is a Survivor of Domestic Violence from many years ago.  She was shot by a former boyfriend, where she sustained life threatening injuries from two .357 hollow point bullets that she fought hard to survive. Her Hero is her mother, who died at the age of 50, but left her family knowing they were loved and protected.   Ms. Dowling is a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, International Honors society for Sociology, and the National Honor Society for Political Science.  She volunteers time at the VFW Post 660, & Safe Shelter (the domestic violence shelter for Savannah) where she also did her internship. She also volunteers as a Mental Health Therapist at the Savannah LGBT Community Center twice a week where she enjoys helping people from all walks of life.

Laura lives in the Silk Hope/Berwick area, just outside of Savannah with her husband James and their 7 rescue cats.  She can be found on the couch watching the TINY HOUSE TV Shows, enjoying any and every type of potato snack and sipping on a  Diet Pepsi.  Laura’s bucket list includes visiting every state park in the United States in her tiny camper.

Dominick Pannazzo

LAPC, NCC

Dominick Pannazzo was born in Peekskill, NY.  He came to Savannah to study Painting at SCAD, but found his interests and talents led him to pursue a career in Mental Health.   As a recovering addict, Dominick is uniquely qualified to help other addicts with their issues.  His professional life started in information technology, then Culinary, then Counseling, and has including working with kids and at risk youth at first as well as working in crisis stabilization at Coastal Harbor.  He then took a break and worked back in higher ed. administration.   Dominick now works at Thunderbolt Counseling Services and in the prison as a Substance Abuse Counselor.  Mr.  Pannazzo holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health, Cum Laude, as well as a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology, Summa Cum Laude, from South University.   He was the first South University student to be awarded the Porter G. Pierpont Rotary Scholarship for educational excellence and outstanding service.  Dominick was also granted the Education Management Corporation (EDMC) Scholarship based on exceeding academic goals and highly regarded faculty recommendations.   His professional credentials include: 

  • National Certified Counselor (NCC) – Passed National Counselor Exam (NCE)
  • Certified Starwood Hotels Behavioral Interviewer – Finished all modules of their highly-rated Leadership Program
  • Dale Carnegie Training, “Effective Communications and Human Relations” – Completed 14-week course focused on team management; received the Outstanding Performance Award and Breakthrough Award based on peer feedback
  • Trained Tutor, Royce Learning Center

Currently, Dominick lives in the Glynwood area of Savannah with his 2 cats: Simon and Sebastian.  He can be found playing chess.com for hours on end while imbibing a cup of PG tips tea.  Mr. Pannazzo also enjoys reading, sailing, and freemasonry.  He is making plans to climb Mt Rainier and to visit Iceland.
